Mysterious Iceland balls!?
Ok ... here's the deal: the geothermal steam natural ventilation in a large lake nearby Pingvellur Iceland. I was taking a closer look and features of thousands of small balls in the lake bed in shallow water. Most were clear, a few translucent green. That ranged in size from 1 / 8 "diameter and 3 / 4". Thick walls, clear liquid inside. It was only in the shallow waters not too close heat source, but not far away either. WHAT ARE THEY?? People in town did not know. My biologist friend does not know. The water was full of sulfur and minerals there was no life visible. Not even sure if the ball is alive. I suppose some rare type of algae that the needs of thermal energy, but what sustains them? Where do they come? In a circuit of 2,000 km from the country i have never seen anything like it again, although I have visited many geothermal areas. I'm dying hear some theories.
