With people looking more and more ways to find energy sources renewable, many do not realize they are on the roof of one of the largest energy resources on the planet. The Earth's core temperature is unbearable, more hot that nobody could even imagine. This heat builds up so much pressure on the Earth's core has to be released somehow. These emissions are known as geothermal energy. Hot water and steam from the Earth can be used in a number of ways to create energy. This is a renewable energy because the heat in the Center of the Earth is constant and the rain water refills.
There are different ways to use geothermal energy, including direct and indirect uses.
- Heat from the Earth could be used as a direct source of heating systems. The closure of the hot water system on Earth is directly pumped heating systems.
- Generators in power plants require steam at very high temperatures to work. geothermal power plants are built near the dams to harness the natural resource. The power plants use steam or water near the surface to operate your generator.
- Heat pumps use geothermal water near the surface of the earth to control the temperature of the building. This renewable energy source can be controlled entire towns and villages.
Using geothermal energy is not a new concept. History has shown that people in ancient hot springs have been used for cooking, bathing and heating. Even today many believe that the natural thermal waters have healing powers. Many people still bathe in hot springs. In Reykjavik, Iceland 95 percent of the buildings are heated with geothermal heating systems. Hot water near the surface of the Earth is pumped directly into the buildings.
States United States States is one of the leaders in geothermal energy. The country has more geothermal power plants than any other, however, represents only one percent of the electricity produced in the U.S. California (33), Nevada (15), Hawaii (1) and Utah (1) are the only states with power plants geothermal.
There are critics of geothermal energy. Although there are uses for it, the criticism has been raised. Some believe this is not a solution in the long term can not be used in large environments. There are others who think that the creation of geothermal power plants would cost too much money and a flight of money research other valuable energy resources. People are also worried that if the magma is tapped, it could bring dangerous and harmful particles.
One thing is certain, more research is needed to make an educated conclusion about geothermal energy. There is too much guessing going on and not doing enough. There are results of geothermal natural reactions. This happens everywhere and come in the form of volcanoes, hot springs and geysers. With geothermal source reactions natural, human beings must find a safe way to use it.
