How I can start a compost pile in my camp?
I want to start a compost pile, where about 300 people who all eat around 3 meals a day and there is also a fruit bowl that is placed out during the day. I wonder: what to do, how much will it cost, and what type of food can get into it. There will also be a problem with insects in the stack? thank you!
Use leftover food such as vegetables, fruits, egg shells, tea bags and coffee grounds. Grass clippings, leaves, skin, hair, pieces of wood and newspapers are good too. Add water from time to time, and be sure to turn it around, so uniformly distrbute regard. You will get some errors, such as mosquitoes and flies, but if they get clogged with leaves should be okay. Do not put meat, dairy, herbs, pine needles or pine cones in the compost heap.
